SMART TAURUS LTD is the data controller for personal data processed via the Smart Taurus Fleet platform.

2. What data we collect

  • Identity and contact data (name, email, phone, company details).
  • Account data (role, permissions, settings, verification documents).
  • Job data (pickup/delivery, photos, logistics metadata).
  • Device and usage data (sessions, logs, IP, browser, approximate and precise location during live tracking for Advanced while on active jobs).
  • Payment and payout metadata (via Stripe and Stripe Connect; we do not store full card numbers).

3. Why we use your data (lawful bases)

  • Contract: to provide the Platform (accounts, jobs, quotes, invoicing).
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, improve, and support the Platform.
  • Legal obligations: compliance, fraud prevention, record‑keeping.
  • Consent: certain marketing communications, where required.

4. Drivers and Live GPS

For Fleet Advanced, live GPS tracking is enabled during active jobs to improve coordination and safety. Businesses must ensure drivers are informed and, where required, provide consent. Tracking is not used outside legitimate operational purposes.

5. Sharing

We use trusted processors for key services, including: Stripe (payments and Connect), Mapbox/Google (maps/autocomplete/geocoding), Ably (realtime), email delivery (SMTP), and hosting/database providers. Data may be transferred outside the UK/EEA with appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs).

6. Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including legal retention requirements and to resolve disputes. Certain records (e.g., invoices) may be retained to meet financial and regulatory obligations.

  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).
